Albert Hall Museum

Albert Hall Museum and the Central Museum, situated among the gardens of Ram Niwas Bagh in Jaipur, is one of the oldest museums in the state of Rajasthan. Albert Hall Museum is based in Albert Museum in London and represents the Indo-Saracenic style of architecture. It is also called the Central Government of the Museum. Maharaja Ram Singh initially wanted this building is a city council, but his successor Madho Singh II, decided that there should be a museum for the art of Jaipur and included as part of the new Ram Nivas Garden. The museum has a rich collection of objects such as paints, carpets, ivory, stone, metal sculptures, stained glass works etc.

Display- museum displays a rare collection of antique fabrics including miniature paintings, carpets, metal and wood crafts, toys, wrists, arms and weapons and an Egyptian mummy belonging to the Ptolemaic era. The most extraordinary of these is the carpet that depicts the scene of a Persian garden with streams. This rug was purchased by Mirza Raja Jai Singh I, at a price of Shah Abbas of Persia.

The galleries on the ground floor of the museum exhibit of jewelry and some clothing belonging to people from all sectors of society in Rajasthan. Thus, there is an exhibition of garments of the privileged class, which consists of the Rajputs and the rich merchants and the dresses of the various tribes of Rajasthan including the Bhils, Meena, and Lohars Gadoliya Bhopa. Walking through the gallery can get an idea of the culture and lifestyle of the tribes of Rajasthan.

A section of the museum displays the Egyptian mummy, and another section displays dolls and toys from different countries. Through the exhibition of costumes, ceramics, brassware and woodwork can glimpse the lifestyle of the village of Rajasthan. The Durbar Hall, which is usually closed, is the most magnificent Persian Garden Carpet. Made in Kerman, Persia, the design represents the Garden of Paradise.

However, the gallery exhibits the center of the music and dances of Rajasthan, to be seen at the museum.

Timings- It is open from Saturday to Thursday and closed on Friday.
